Even When Things Look Dead, There is Hope

In the dark, cold of winter, we can easily be convinced that something no longer has life running through it. The branches are bare. The wood looks dry and brittle. The proverbial tree stands as a dark shadow of its former self. Every sign points to this thing, this time, this job, this relationship being dead.

But sometimes if we wait with the expectation that spring will come, it does. Branches bloom. A tree grows. And life that was never fully gone returns.

No matter where you are in your life, spring is coming, Underdogs. Somehow, some way, a tree that looks dead will blossom. Maybe it's the one you're tending. Maybe it's another one you don't even know is out there. We cannot force its timing any more than we can force spring to burst forth. We can only watch for it. Expect it. And celebrate every tiny bloom we encounter.

Cheering you through winter. May you bare witness to new life around you...
