Share Your Good Stuff!
Why is it that when an award, an honor or some other good thing happens for us, we often hesitate to share it and celebrate it en masse? We pause and think to ourselves.... I don't want to come across as some sort of egotistical, self-important bragger. Yuck! But great, exciting news doesn't come every day and often there are loooooong spans of time when it doesn't come at all. So here's what I'm proposing: Let's share our good stuff knowing it's not about bragging. It's about coming together to celebrate with one another.
Today, the graphic posted here carries my exciting news, which I shared with hesitation this morning on my Facebook Page. After thinking about that, I've decided that holding back our good news is crazy, especially when it's meaningful, which this induction is. When I first set foot on the Slippery Rock campus, I was a lost freshman who struggled to find a major. To make matters worse, I was surrounded by peers who seemed to know exactly what they wanted. But with the encouragement and guidance of my professors, I found myself and my major. I have professors Mike McHugh, Milton Carless and Bruce Russell to thank for opening my eyes to a career in TV that I could not have even imagined when I walked wide eyed into their classrooms.
Good news, Underdogs, comes jam packed with gratitude.
What's your good news this day, this week, this month, this year? Shout it out with joy and excitement! Don't hold back! We not only give you complete freedom to unabashedly share it with us, we also assure you we won't analyze your ego. There's no time for that! We'll be too busy celebrating! And who doesn't need another reason to celebrate?
Love and cheers!
