We’re nearly three weeks into it and daily gratitude is changing me, just the way scientific research said it would. I’ve noticed I’m more resilient and less prone to frustration. Gratitude comes with less thought now and I feel even more joy. This little experiment is working.
But the real proof is in my husband. While I was a believer from the beginning, he was an eye rolling doubter. But then something started to shift. About half way through these three weeks, he began to spontaneously talk about feeling grateful. He seemed to get less down about things and less frustrated by them. And recently, nearly three weeks in, he told me out of the blue that his new favorite word is “great-ful.” (His purposeful twist on the spelling). Even my doubter is now becoming a believer. I wonder if you're seeing the benefits, too.
Gratitude is a mood and life enhancer that's contagious. Want to have a more positive outlook in just a few seconds? Leave a comment below, listing something for which you are grateful. You could even tag the person you’re grateful to and, if you’re tagged, add something to the list.
Gratitude: Pass it on!
It's Day 19 of The Big Joy of Little Things and I am grateful....
66. That my son and I both returned home safely today from weekend trips. And boy, was it good to see him!
67. For my wonderful extended family: cousins, aunts and uncle, and in-laws and for the memories and history we share.
68. For air conditioning. Especially in August.
69. For my sweet dog sitter who stays with my girls so they can stay home.
May gratitude be yours, Underdogs!
