When our proverbial sky looms large and gray, it can be tough to see anything else out there.
But pull your eye away and make yourself look for the hidden treasures that brighten even the gloomiest days. They are there... waiting to be found, but it takes a willingness, sometimes even a discipline to see them. It takes letting go of the thing you're obsessing over, worrying about, afraid of, and putting your full attention elsewhere, even if just for a short while.
This is an active, intentional practice and it works. It calms us and allows us to think more clearly. It reminds us there is good woven in with bad. It makes our problems feel just a tiny bit smaller.
When you train yourself to do this, it becomes automatic and you'll start to see things, good things, you missed before. They are everywhere. Can you find one here? I almost missed it today even though I was watching rain clouds nearby. (See the whirly gig in the lower left corner? It's a feel good thing).
So..... where's the hidden treasure in your own dreary landscape?
Bright, shiny, happy, good things are out there, Underdogs. May we all be willing hunters....
Wishing you peace, love and bountiful treasure hunts....
